Earned through specialized credential programs and verified work experience, the CPhT-Adv® Certification represents the highest level of technician achievement. CPhT-Adv® Certification holders demonstrate mastery in critical areas like sterile compounding, hazardous drug management, and point-of-care testing. As pharmacy technician roles expand, this certification gives state regulators and healthcare leaders confidence in a technician's knowledge and competence.
Protecting Credential Integrity
Following development and years of use by PTCB, and formal registration by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), PTCB is actively seeking to stop unauthorized uses of the CPhT-Adv® Certification mark.

Because some technicians acquired credentials in good faith from unauthorized users of the CPhT-Adv® Certification, PTCB is launching the CPhT-Adv® Authentic Pathway Program. To ensure frontline workers face no financial penalty, PTCB is providing a zero-cost bridge for eligible candidates to earn the official CPhT-Adv® Certification. PTCB is covering 100% of the cost for an entire year—waiving application fees, offering free educational options, and covering exam fees for required PTCB credentials.
