RoC 启动视黄醇护肤研究:同卵双胞胎临床试验结合 Oura Ring 生物识别数据
Is Aging Written in Your Genes? RoC's New Skin Longevity Study Measures the Effects of Clinical Retinol on Identical Twins
RoC® Skincare is taking its longevity research further, testing a regimen featuring its Patented Clinical Retinol on identical twins and pairing, for the first time in the brand's history, clinical skin measures with lifestyle biometric data captured with Oura Ring. RoC is now recruiting adult female identical twins across the U.S. for the study.
, /PRNewswire/ -- RoC Skincare, a leader in clinically proven skincare and a pioneer in retinol innovation, today announced the launch of an expanded clinical study examining the effects of a RoC Clinical Retinol regimen on visible skin aging and skin longevity. The company is now recruiting at least 30 pairs of adult female identical twins ages 40 and older living in the U.S. for this phase, which marks the first time RoC will combine biometric measurements with clinical evaluations of a regimen featuring its Patented Clinical Retinol.
The study builds on RoC's pilot clinical study of Clinical Retinol in identical twins, with first results presented at the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting in March 2026, which pointed to twins as a promising model for isolating drivers of skin aging. Because identical twins share the same genetic blueprint, differences that emerge over the course of the study are less likely to be explained by genetics, which may help researchers better understand how retinol and lifestyle relate to visible skin aging.
RoC is developing the protocol with input from its Longevity Council, a panel of experts spanning dermatology, aging biology and precision medicine. Participants will complete a baseline period before beginning the 12-week RoC Clinical Retinol regimen, with clinical skin assessments and Oura biometric data collected throughout.
Participants will undergo RoC's standard clinical skin measures (expert grading, digital photography, corneometer readings and subject self-assessment) to evaluate changes in the visible signs of skin aging, with each wearing an Oura Ring throughout the study to capture variations in biometric data such as sleep, stress, heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV) and temperature trends. Related products will be provided free of charge for the duration of the study. Interested twin pairs can find more information and apply at rocskincare.com.
By bringing these two data sets together, RoC researchers aim to build a more complete picture of skin longevity: how much of long-term skin health is written in our genes versus lived in our daily choices, and what role Clinical Retinol may play in visible skin aging.
"We've spent decades studying retinol and its effects on visible skin aging. Identical twins let us isolate what it's really doing," says Arthur Pellegrino, RoC's Chief Scientific Officer. "Genetics sets the starting point; lifestyle draws the curve. And for the first time at RoC, we can start to measure it. By pairing rigorous clinical skin measurements with real-world biometric data from Oura, we hope to deepen our understanding of both the effects of RoC Skincare's Clinical Retinol and the broader forces that shape skin longevity."
The research builds on RoC's decades-long commitment to advancing the science of skin aging and longevity and its conviction that how we age is shaped by far more than the number stamped in our passport.
Results from the study are expected in mid 2027.
